Joann Heerman, 50, of Brinkerhoff Avenue, was arrested Tuesday for larceny following a lengthy investigation by Greenwich police that undercovered her financial crimes that dated back to 2009, said Lt. John Slusarz.
According to Slusarz, Heerman worked for a couple that owned two large buildings on Greenwich Avenue that included both commercial and residential units. When the couple passed away, an audit was performed and it showed numerous questionable withdraws linked to Heerman for more than $100,000.
"It wasn't like she stole $50,000 at a time," Slusarz said. "She was the manager and collected rents and other fees so these were small amounts over an extended period of time."
Heerman turned herself into Greenwich Police.
She was released on $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Feb. 7.
